Pandemic Style Halloween

This pandemic really brought out our Halloween decoration abilities.   Trick or treating looked a little different this year during the day.  We met a handful of neighborhood families at the park -  and then walked around to each other's houses to grab our individual candy bags. It might have been during the day and only a few houses, but I think we each got about as much candy as previous years! Then we had our backyard Halloween celebration with dinner and crafts.  On top of all our candy, we made special Halloween pumpkins for our night-time family party.  Cora got into the dessert and all of our crafts! Happy Halloween!

Friday Night Family Carving Night

Twas the night before Halloween and all the kids had their thoughts deep into carving.  First came the scooping.  And oh what a mess! Exciting enough for Cora to get into the mess too! John worked hard at his pumpkin  - the biggest one! Mom worked hard on cleaning out the adults pumpkin.  I enhanced a scratch on the surface on my pumpkin into part of his expression -  that glowed through when lit! So scary in the dark! Not so scary in the light!

Fall Colors

Eve was having fun outside playing in the leaves.  Ha - I was there too? Did you see me?  Then it was Eve's turn to hide.  I did my best - but she takes more leaves to cover up.  We had one big pile of fun!

Ninja Stealth

Being home a lot more, we are certainly getting good use out of our new Halloween costumes this year.  And masks are both functional and part of the outfit! My ninja costume didn't come with any weapons so I had to go into creative stealth mode to get the sword that Mom and Dad thought they put out of reach from me (photo credit to my sister).  Now I'm in full ninja mode!

Which Way?

We made another fall adventure - this time to the Blast Corn Maze.  Sometimes we stayed on the trails -  and sometimes we blazed on our paths.  We all ended up finding the exit together! One thing was for sure - we all had fun in the maze! And 2 out 3 of us thought the tractor ride was fun - Cora thought it was too loud.

Reading is Pawtastic

I got home from school and found that my birthday present from Aunt Sarah were delivered today - a set of Paw Patrol books! John volunteered to sit and read them to me. I love them!

Costume Mashup

Cora's Ironman costume was big hit with all of us. Eve just wears her Alex Morgan outfit from last year as every day clothes - this morning with the Ironman mask.  Cora's been practicing her superhero stance.  And why wouldn't an Ironman mask go with my Ninja costume?

Bandana Buddies

John and I dressed up together during playtime.  I decided not to match John's missing two front teeth though.  No reason to get out of costume to eat lunch, although it was better to take my mittens off.
